Sciemus acquire stake in World's Largest Data Provider for Power

June 16th 2011 – Sciemus has completed a 25% purchase in world leading power generation and engineering data provider Strategic Power Systems, Inc. (SPS)

Thanks to the contributions of the SPS database PowerRAT contains statistical information totalling over 21,000 years of operational data, making PowerRAT data the largest and most extensive insurance power plant database in the world.

Sciemus CEO and founder Andre Finn has joined the SPS board as Non-Executive Director to further development the relationship between the two organisations and facilitate the continued development of Sciemus insurance models.

SPS have been collecting impartial and unbiased operational power plant data for over 25 years. They have worked with Sciemus' Power division over the last three years in delivering data to the Sciemus PowerRAT (Power Risk Analysis Tool) modelling technology, as well as providing a comprehensive engineering review service in the aid of underwriters' decision making.
